digitalization has changed the face of indian economy

To transform the entire utility ecosystem using information technology, the Government of India has launched the Digital India Program to transform India into a knowledge-based economy and society. The Government of India has been on the mission since 2006. We have become digital sustaining citizens through the impact of digital India on the Indian Economy.

Today, it is the country that has gone ahead that has made science and technology the vector of its progress. There is often debate about its strengths and weaknesses. However, we believe that in the next five years the impact of digital India on the Indian Economy is immensely positive. Hence, this article will only focus on digital India.

Launching of the Digital India Campaign

The Digital India Program is a new initiative of the Government of India aimed at the prosperous development of India. Its main purpose is to set a new record in the field of science and technology. Thanks to that, the sole purpose is to enhance the digital status of the country.

The Digital India Campaign was launched by the Government of India in 2015. After that, digitalization has become one of the most important trends in India. This campaign aims to revolutionize the country through the internet and strengthen the technical side of India by enhancing the internet.

This campaign is launched by the Government of India under the name “Digital India Campaign”. We are now the second-fastest digitization country in the world and can see digital India broadly.

Why Digital India is an Important Initiative

Digital India is an important initiative to develop the country digitally and improve the country’s IT institutions. Launched on July 1, 2015, this program is a national program needed to connect local people to high-speed Internet. High-speed internet has reached both urban and rural areas. This is one of the immense impacts of Digital India as all services can now be provided digitally.

We can say this because digital India ran the economy when the whole country was closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. From teaching to working from home, completing all services was possible due to the first internet speed. Digital India has had a tremendous impact on people from all walks of life. It has a positive impact on social progress and personal life.

This project is most useful for villagers settled in remote areas of the country. This project will reduce usage time by providing high-speed internet service in the future too. In the pandemic session, we become dependent on connected devices and fast internet.

Hence, due to digitalization, it was possible to run the Indian economy. Even now, due to digitalization, we can connect to different sections of the economy. The re-engineered or online economies and societies is one of the examples of the Positive Impact of Digital India on the Indian Economy.

E-Governance Journey: Faster E-Government Projects

The e-governance journey in India had many ups and downs in the 1990s with a wide range of applications centered on human-centered services. Since then, many states have embarked on various e-governance projects.

These e-governance projects are people-centered, but not as effective as they should be. Launched in 2006, the Impact of Digital India is long rooted. The Government of India initiative consists of more than 30 mission mode projects covering various sectors.

Although many e-government projects have been successfully implemented across the country, e-governance has not yet achieved the expected success. India’s mobile phone users surpassed 581 million in 2014 and have been steadily increasing over the past decade.

According to a survey by e-Marketer in 2015, India will have more than 800 million mobile phone users by 2019. The program was announced by launching various Digital India campaign programs such as Digital Locker, National Scholarship Portal, E-Health, E-Education, and many more. As completing e-governance projects become easier and faster, the economy has become stronger.

The e-governance of countries promotes inclusive economic growth, including services, products. Hence, we can say the impact of digital India on the Indian Economy is positive in the government sector. To transform the entire IT utility ecosystem, the Government of India has launched the Digital India Program to transform India into a digital society and knowledge economy.

Through this program, CHC has become universal through multi-way endpoints for service delivery via Gram Panchayat. The goal is to reach about 126,000 to 240,000 villages through digitalization at a cost of around Rs 4,550 crores. In addition, the post office must become a one-stop shop.

Business Process Reengineering (BPR) uses IT to improve transactions. This includes government simplification and mitigation, online application, development of inter-departmental interfaces, use of online collections such as school certificates and voter IDs, as well as integration services and platforms such as payment gateways. , Mobile Platforms, etc. Hence, we can expect that our IT sector will grow at a faster rate.

Impact of Digital India on Indian Private Sector

Private sectors take extreme measures to ensure they will get the most of the Impact of Digital India. We have seen the growth in the usage of electronic devices. Moreover, we have seen too many employment opportunities due to the impact of digital India on the Indian Economy. We had increased our domestic electronics production. However, we need to double our electronics production and people will consume more data through 5G services.

Hence, in the future, we will see a more positive impact on the Indian Economy. Within this framework, many programs are implemented locally. There is a plan to provide basic facilities at the grassroots level of urban and rural areas via the internet. The early harvest program requires all central government employees to have biometrics by sending well wishes through government forums.

Final Thought

Many experts think the impact of digital India on the Indian Economy can generate up to $1 trillion in economic activities. But we need to spend more of our GDP on digital infrastructure. We have to update our digital infrastructure to see more impact of digital India on the Indian Economy.
